STAP budget application

You can apply for the STAP budget via stapuwv.nl. When you apply, take the following steps:

  1. Visit stapuwv.nl, and scroll down to click on the ‘Aanvragen STAP-budget’ button (meaning: ‘Apply for STAP budget’). Tip: we recommend you to click on the ‘Apply for STAP budget’ button earlier than 10:00 AM, for example at 9:30 AM, to ensure that you have the best possible place in the queue.
  2. Log in with your DigiD.
  3. Enter your email address and phone number and click on ‘Volgende’ (meaning: ‘Next’).
  4. Check your details and click on ‘Volgende’ (meaning: ‘Next’).
  5. Upload your STAP registration certificate (‘Stap-aanmeldingsbewijs’).
  6. In the field ‘Student-, klant of inschrijvingsnummer’ (meaning: ‘Student, customer or registration number’) enter the student number that you can find on the STAP registration certificate. Click on ‘Volgende’ (meaning: ‘Next’).
  7. A search screen will now appear on the ‘Selecteer uw scholing’ (meaning: ‘Select your education’) page.
  8. In the field ‘Naam scholing’ (meaning: ‘Educational activity’), fill in the ‘Naam opleiding’ (meaning: ‘Name training programme’) that you see on the STAP registration certificate.
  9. In the field ‘Naam opleider’ (meaning: ‘Name institute’), enter our name: Academie voor Coaching en Counselling.
  10. Click on ‘Zoeken’ (meaning: ‘Search’). One or more of our training programmes will appear.
  11. Select the training programme of your choice from the list. Please make sure that you choose the right location for programmes that are held in several locations (for example Coaching and Counselling English Year 1 Rotterdam or Coaching and Counselling English Year 1 Utrecht Lunetten. Use the ‘>’ button at the correct training programme to select it.
  12. Click on ‘Selecteer deze scholing’ (meaning: ‘Select this training’) at the correct training programme.
  13. You will now see that your training programme has been filled in on your application.
  14. Check whether the ‘Startdatum scholingsactiviteit’ (meaning: ‘Starting date of education’) matches the ‘Starting date’ on the STAP registration certificate. Is this not the case? Then adjust it.
  15. Check whether the ‘Einddatum scholingsactiviteit’ (meaning: ‘End date of education’) matches the ‘End date’ on the STAP registration certificate. Is this not the case? Then adjust it. The end date on the STAP registration certificate differs from the end date on our website. The end date on the STAP registration certificate is always 12 months after the starting date. So if your training programme starts on 1 September 2022, fill in 31 August 2023 as your end date.
  16. In the field ‘Uitvoeringslocatie van de scholingsactiviteit’ (meaning: ‘Location of educational activity’) you enter the ‘Plaatsnaam scholing’ (meaning: ‘Location’) as shown on your STAP registration certificate. Should you wish to follow an online training programme, enter ‘Online’ in this field.
  17. In the field ‘Subsidiebedrag’ (meaning: ‘STAP budget amount’) enter the amount that is stated on the STAP registration certificate and click ‘Volgende’.
  18. Answer the questions about your current situation and click ‘Volgende’.
  19. Check your application on the ‘Overzicht van uw aanvraag‘ (meaning: ‘Overview of your application’) screen and click ‘Volgende’.
  20. Agree with the terms and conditions, indicate that you have filled in the application truthfully and click on ‘Versturen’ (meaning: ‘Send’).
  21. The government (UWV) will assess your application within four weeks. Log on to stapuwv.nl to check the status of your application.
