Live Online Coaching and Counselling English Year 2
In the second year of the Coaching and Counselling training programme you will continue to improve your coaching and counselling skills and you will specialize in the direction of your choice. Cornerstone of the schooling is the psychology of change and the subsequent challenges for coach and client.
We’ll be diving deeper into interventions, and work on increasing your skills to deal with occurring disruptions in the coaching process. In four blocks of two practice days, we will explore different coaching areas that are important in everyday life: ‘personal life and health’, ‘family and relationships’, ‘business and career’ and ‘mourning, trauma and recovery’. Within these areas, we’ll investigate which themes, skills and interventions are helpful to guide and stimulate change. We will continuously combine theory and practice, and you will reflect on your own practice and actions in the process.
During the course of the programme, you will compile a portfolio of all practical sessions in class, as well as of your coaching sessions with (test-)clients. To choose a specialisation, you can opt to select a subject as covered in the four blocks, or you can choose your own specialization aside of these blocks. Once you have selected a specific field, you will draft a plan together with your teacher to set up a project that will help you learn all the necessary skills and information to become a specialized coach/counsellor in the chosen field.
The Live Online Training Programme will be taught via webcam. This means that you can actively learn and follow the sessions from the comfort of your own home (or wherever else in the world you might be at the time). As long as you have access to the internet and your computer/webcam, you are all set to go. We allow a maximum of 6 participants per group, to warrant the best conditions for personal growth and development.
The software that we use for the online training sessions is the Webex teleconferencing system. This system enables the teacher and all participants to see each other, while also offering the possibility to practice separately on screen in smaller groups . The lessons are 90 minutes per session. In the period between sessions, students will practice their homework assignments (on- or offline, we leave that up to the participants) with fellow students.
Connecting to the Webex teleconferencing system is very easy. If you have any concerns about whether this style of learning suits you, or if you would like to try the system first, feel free to contact us and request a free Skype interview with the teacher.
The second year is available for students who have successfully completed the first year of the training programme and who want to continue to develop themselves into professional and specialized coaches and counsellors.
The second year programme provides you with extra skills and experience to become a professional and specialized coach/counsellor.
You will learn to:
- Apply knowledge about change and learning
- Intervene professionally on disturbances in the guiding process
- Understand and apply various coaching/counselling-roles
- Gain deeper knowledge on specific themes
The students in the second year course are people who want to specialize in a certain field of coaching/counselling. Your fellow students all have successfully concluded the first year and therefore possess the basic skills. The direction they want to specialize in can however differ from yours. The programme is designed to give every student the chance to deepen their general skills, learn from and with their peers and specialize in the direction of their personal choice.
