Rogers. In the 1940\u2019s, Rogers steered away from the traditional therapy model, in which the therapist is the expert in relation to the patient\/client. Instead, he introduced &#8216;counselling&#8217; as a non-directive and empathetic approach, in which the client has an active role in their own therapeutic process.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, sisters Marian and Paulien Kok took over the ACC with great enthusiasm and motivation. At the beginning of 2019, the new ACC was launched, with a new \u2018look and feel\u2019 and new training content, but with the utmost care to retain the ACC\u2019s foundation and existing knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1996, thousands of students have been trained by the ACC.
