Anne-Sophie Léonard (assistant teacher)

“If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always gotten.”

What inspires you to be an assistant teacher?
The journey at the ACC helped me so much to gain a better understanding of who I am and what I want. It taught me not only the skills to coach, but I also see day to day how this journey equipped me with better communication, habits, and awareness. As an assistant teacher, it is an immense pleasure to participate in such a journey.

By going through the program myself, I know firsthand how being supported can make the difference. That is why I wanted not only to start building my own practice, but also to help students in their personal and career growth, offering them the same kind of presence that made a difference for me. I also love meeting new people and learning from them, so I hope to support you on your journey while learning from you too.

About me
My path started in scientific research, with a PhD in chemistry, a high-pressure environment where I learned the hard way how important it is to find a way of working that truly fits you and to have work-life balance. I met a lot of inspiring people facing similar challenges such as perfectionism, impostor syndrome, anxiety, burnout, and among academics, a lot of neurodivergent people.

Over time, I realized what actually drew me in was less the chemistry itself and more the chemistry between people: how they think, connect, and grow. That shift led me to specialize in well-being and career, focusing on transitions, work-life balance, and recovery.

Today I am building my own practice, a space of exploration and support through multiple life changes, helping people reinvent themselves and find alignment in their personal and career life. Clients explore old patterns that no longer serve them, deconstruct beliefs that hold them back, and build a life that truly aligns with who they are, learning to work with themselves and not against themselves. It is a space to pause, heal, get motivated, and cultivate a growth mindset for neurodivergent and outside of the box thinkers.

Why have you chosen the ACC and what did the training bring you?
When I was 18, I hesitated between a psychology and a chemistry degree, and chose chemistry. Over time, I felt more drawn to the chemistry between humans, and that pull led me to coaching. What convinced me to enroll was witnessing the transformation of an ACC alumni, the motivation and personal growth it brought her, was truly uplifting.

Beyond that initial inspiration, what I really appreciate about the ACC program is how it combines coaching and counselling, with several modules that let you explore and choose what fits you best. The programme’s accreditation, seriousness, flexibility, and openness were a direct match for me during the open days. Beyond theory, there is a lot of practice, which seriously prepares you to become a coach and, more broadly, helps you develop strong interpersonal skills. More than that, ACC is a small community of passionate, skilled professionals who help you grow and learn in a supportive atmosphere.

Who is my hero and why?
My heroes are what I would call everyday heroes, who represent an immense source of inspiration: outside-the-box thinkers who spark a room simply by being different, and passionate people whose energy lights everything up around them when they talk about their work, projects and hobbies.
