SNRO – Dutch Register for Education

The Dutch Register for Education (SNRO), in Dutch: Stichting Nederlands Register voor Opleidingen, is an independent institute for quality assurance of professional education in the private educational sector.

We are currently in the process of applying for accreditation for all our training programmes with the SNRO (system accreditation). An accreditation process takes quite some time, so we cannot predict precisely when the accreditation for all training programmes will be completed.

However, in the meantime, our training programme Coaching and Counselling Year 1 has already been accredited by the SNRO, as of March 1st, 2022.

What does independent accreditation mean?

Accreditation means that an independent party assesses whether  an educational institute and its training programmes meet certain (high level) standards. With regard to the training programme, the assessment for example focuses on whether the programme content is of Higher Vocational Education (Dutch HBO) level and whether the students’ exit level meets the professional profile for coaches/counsellors. The educational institute itself is examined and assessed for its professionalism and quality standards. For this assessment the SNRO uses the same criteria as the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO). The NVAO monitors the quality of education at Dutch and Belgian colleges and universities.

The SNRO monitors:

  • Our vision on education and how we apply this to our training programmes.
  • The Higher Vocational Education (Dutch HBO) level of our training programmes.
  • How we monitor and improve our quality.

When will you receive a diploma with the SNRO logo?

If your previous education was at least on Higher Vocational Education (Dutch HBO) level, you will receive a Coaching and Counselling Year 1 diploma with the SNRO accreditation logo, after successfully completing the programme (NB: this only applies to our training programmes that have started in the spring of 2022 and onwards).

If you would like to know whether your previous education equals Dutch HBO level, you can visit the website of the NUFFIC (the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education).
