“Every boundary you have the courage to set brings you closer to yourself.”
What inspires you to be a teacher?
Coaching is a wonderful profession and, at the same time, my greatest passion. What could be more rewarding than having the opportunity to train others in this field? To support them in discovering who they are as a person and how they can use their unique qualities to become the right coach for the people they want to work with.
About me
I have spent most of my career working in the corporate world. I have an extensive background in Human Resource Management and, since 2015, I have been supporting and training teams in the areas of culture and leadership. As a member of an internal coaching network, I coach colleagues at various stages of their professional development. Alongside this, I run my own coaching practice, working with both individuals and teams.
I hold a Master’s degree in Career Coaching and am an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), specialising in Solution-Focused Coaching. I am also certified in MBTI, NLP, Transactional Analysis, Voice Dialogue and team coaching. For my work in training and facilitating teams, I was trained by Aberkyn, the organisational development arm of McKinsey & Company.
Why have you chosen to teach for the ACC?
I completed ACC’s specialisation programme in Stress and Burnout Coaching and Counselling. There are so many people struggling with the effects of stress and burnout, yet there is still far too little support available. This affected me deeply and motivated me to develop my expertise in this area so that I could support others facing these challenges. I chose ACC because it offers a thorough and substantial programme in this field, both in terms of its duration and its content. ACC also stands for values that resonate strongly with my own: making the world a little better by making mental and emotional support accessible to a wide range of people.
Who is my hero and why?
My hero is Floortje Dessing. Partly because we share a passion for travel, but also because of her genuine curiosity about people. I admire the openness she brings to her interviews and the seemingly effortless way in which she earns people’s trust.
